FROM 12 TO 14 NOVEMBER,  THE FIRST KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PLASTICS AND CHEMICAL INDUSTRY PLASTEX QAZAQSTAN 2025 WAS HELD IN ALMATY, WHICH BECAME A KEY EVENT FOR THE INDUSTRY.

The event brought together manufacturers, suppliers, experts and representatives of government agencies, creating a platform for the exchange of experience, demonstration of innovations and the development of inter-industry cooperation.

During the three days of work, the exhibition was visited by 860 visitors including 561 industry professionals, which confirms the high interest of the market in new technologies and solutions in the field of polymer and chemical industry. Alexander Troinin, Commercial Director of April, shared his impressions of the visit: “The exhibition made a good impression, especially considering that it is being held in Kazakhstan for the first time. To be honest, I even thought that this was not the first time it was held. There are not many representatives of the industry yet, but there are familiar companies among the participants. For myself, I noted the KPI company – we exchanged contacts and plan to discuss closer cooperation.”

This year, Plastex Qazaqstan brought together 44 companies from 6 countries – Kazakhstan, India, Iran, China, Russia and Uzbekistan. Among them are 13 domestic manufacturers and 31 international companies that presented a full range of solutions: from raw materials and components to equipment, automation, molds and 3D printing technologies new production technologies. The effectiveness of interaction and professional interest are also emphasized by the participants of the exhibition: “The Plastex Qazaqstan exhibition was very effective, there were many interesting meetings and we shared contacts. We look forward to long-term cooperation with Kazakh plastic manufacturers and look forward to another great exhibition in Kazakhstan,” said Muhammadjon Abdullayev, Samarkand-Golden Colors.

The  exhibition began with the plenary session “Trends in the development of the plastics market in Kazakhstan and the main players in international commodity markets”, where the issues of import substitution, increasing added value in production, investment attractiveness of the industry and the role of the state in regulating the sector were considered.  KPI, KAZAKHEXPORT, Polymer Market, KAZCHEMISTRY, PetroCouncil and other structures. The high level of inter-industry dialogue is also noted by visitors: “It is especially valuable how such events manage to unite the key industries of Kazakhstan and focus on the development of local production. It is very pleasant to see that representatives of different fields and companies gather at the site – this creates a strong foundation for the development of the industry as a whole,” said Zarema Esengaliyeva, Linde engineer.

Immediately after the plenary discussion, the participants moved on to the foresight block, which summed up the preliminary results of the discussions and outlined the forecasts for the development of the country’s polymer market. Then the official opening ceremony and a VIP tour of the exposition took place, which allowed the guests to get acquainted with the key stands and technologies “Development of Local Production: the Role of Chemistry in the Automotive Industry” with the participation of Astana Motors Engineering, Allur, SIBUR, Silleno LLP, KPI and the Kazakhstan Automobile Union. Speakers discussed localization of production, innovative materials, optimization of supply chains and government support measures.

On the same day, a discussion panel “Chemistry in Construction: Challenges and Solutions” was held, where the prospects for localization of paint and varnish products, the development of the polymer pipe segment and improving the efficiency of related industries were discussed.

Special exhibition areas played a significant role in building business communications. The B2B Zone ensured effective negotiations and the establishment of partnerships. ECO Zone has attracted attention with its recycling and sustainable production technologies. Robo Zone from Astana Hub presented solutions in the field of robotics and 3D printing, emphasizing the trends in the technological development of the industry. The practical benefits of participation are also confirmed by exhibiting companies. Bulat Galiev, Al-Naml noted: “The overall impression of the exhibition is positive. If we talk about the results, then there are established contacts for both supply and sales. Contact with KPI was established, an application for the purchase of raw materials was sent.”

On November 13, the second day of the exhibition was devoted to the ESG agenda. The conference program was opened  by a practical ESG workshop of the Central Asian Institute for Environmental Research, which includes two key parts: “Development of an ESG taxonomy for the plastic industry of Kazakhstan: compliance with international standards” and “Plastic Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a tool for managing sustainable production”. The participants discussed sustainable production management tools and modern approaches to reducing the environmental impact. Particular attention of the participants was attracted by a session with the participation of leading plastics processors, organized jointly with the Recycle Birge Foundation. As part of the discussions, experts exchanged practical experience, discussed modern approaches to effective recycling and the implementation of sustainable practices in the industry. final resolution containing specific recommendations and proposals, which was officially sent to the relevant state and sectoral departments for further consideration and implementation.

Plastex Qazaqstan 2025 has completed its work, confirming the status of a new strategic platform for the chemical and polymer industry of Kazakhstan. The dialogue between international and domestic companies, the presentation of modern technologies and a high level of professional involvement made the exhibition a notable event for the industry and laid the foundation for its further development.
